⅛ Cellos Teacher

Ângela Carneiro was born in 1983 and started cello studies with Pétia Samardjieva, following her studies at the Academia Superior de Orquestra with Pedro Neves and Paulo Gaio Lima and then, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa with Clélia Vital. Attended master classes with Xavier Gainpain, Luís Claret, Maria de Macedo, Rainer Zepperling, Dmitri Fershtmann, Gary Hoffman and Hans Jensen. She was awarded by Prémio Jovens Músicos (2001 and 2004) and was a member of the Orquestra Portuguesa das Escolas de Música, Orquestra Aproarte. She is founding member of Trio Garret and Lisbon Ensemble 20/21, is member of Ensemble DME and plays in several orchestras and ensembles in Portugal. She received a scholarship from AMEC and Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. Since October 2012, she has been a cello teacher at the Escola de Música do Colégio Moderno (Lisbon), where she works with students from the age of 4.
