In a country whose longest border is demarcated by the Atlantic Ocean, the presence and influence of water as an essential element of our daily lives is indisputable. In this sense, the choice of space and the works to be performed, seeks to enable listeners to immerse themselves in an ocean of dreams and impressions of salt and sea. This concert, whose main theme will be the oceans and the consequences of climate change in their environment, will feature the musical performance of the Ensemble Porto Cello Festival. The programme includes works for twelve cellos in world premières, as well as original arrangements for the ensemble, such as C. Debussy’s La Mer, and other compositions by M. Ravel and J. Klengel. This performance will also be a fundraiser for Associação Loving the Planet, leaving a vote of confidence in their work on climate change. As Portugal and the Portuguese have such a symbiotic connection with the sea, so should our attention to reducing our footprint and moving together towards sustainability.
