Mark Vilensky

Mark Vilensky completed his master’s degree at the Latvian Academy of Music and also studied at the Music Academy of Porto in Portugal. While studying abroad, he performed with the big band of the Music Academy of Porto at the Guimaraes Jazz Festival 2017. The excellent performances of that festival inspired Mark to delve into the jazz music as both cellist, self-taught jazz pianist and singer.

Mark is a finalist of the Latvian TV classical music competition “Radīti Mūzikai”(“Born for Music”). He regularly performs as a soloist and as a member of various chamber music ensembles in Latvia and abroad, and also teaches cello and works as a choir conductor. Mark performed on the same stage with such world-famous jazz musicians as Janet Lawson, Jeff Lederer, Joe Fidler, Sebastian Noel, Eran Har Even and many more.
