Baroque cello

 

He started studying the cello at the age of 5 and in 2016 he completed his first studies with Luís Sá Pessoa at the Escola de Música do Conservatório Nacional. He received his bachelor’s degree with Paulo Gaio Lima at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa in June 2019. He completed his master’s degree with Jeroen den Herder at the Codarts School of the Arts in June 2021. In 2017, he joined the laureate group of the Prémio Jovens Musicos. In the field of chamber music, he is one of the founders of Trio Adamastor, collaborates with groups such as Avres Serva, América Antiga or Os Músicos do Tejo, performing in

venues such as Casa da Música (Porto), Centro Cultural de Belém, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Lisbon), De Doelen (Rotterdam), or integrate several festivals: International Music Festival of the Estoril Coast, International Music Festival of Marvão, Os Dias da Música (Lisbon), International Cello Festival Zutphen, International Music Festival of Póvoa do Varzim or the Festival Arte nas Adegas. In the field of free improvisation, he regularly collaborates with musicians such as Filippo Deorsola and João Almeida, after recording an album, ‘Miniatures’, in 2021. He has been a fellow of the Gulbenkian Foundation since 2019.
