Raquel Reis is a cellist passionate about new encounters, paths and sonorities. Member of the Gulbenkian Orchestra since 2007, she studied in Aveiro, Lisbon and Chicago, developing the art of playing the cello through the music of the great masters of Western classical music. He recorded the CD “pessoa” with his trio pessoa (Otto Pereira on violin and João Crisóstomo on piano), with Portuguese music from António Fragoso to Vasco Mendonça, passing by Pedro Jóia, Mário Laginha and Ricardo Ribeiro and Portuguese popular themes. Raquel also recorded the CD “Mundo Grande”, in Rio de Janeiro, with her own mpb compositions, with the Mundo Grande collective. He has collaborated with Waldemar Bastos, Uri Caine, Mbye Ebrima and Peter Evans. With the trio Üryan she explores the sounds of Anatolia. Collaborates occasionally in improvisation and performing arts projects. Passionate about dance. Studious of the body that dances, of the body that plays, of the body that is a listener and instrument.
