Cello

Tiago Anjinho, born in Coimbra, is in the second year of his Masters of Arts – Cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London, in the class of the acclaimed cellist and composer Mats Lidström. He is a member of the elite group of the Academy’s Sainsbury Soloists. Winner of national and international competitions such as the Vigo International String Competition, Fundão International Competition and Soncello Competition, he has been establishing himself as a young promise of the cello in Portugal, and is also the recipient of the Carlos Gomes Foundation/Pará State Prize and the historical Suggia Award. In the field of chamber music he is a founding member of the Duo Arpeggio and the trio Subito. 2020 brought him professional engagements in Brazil, Spain, the UK, and Portugal, which are awaiting rescheduling. Tiago Anjinho plays on a Francesco Ruggieri cello, 1673, on loan from the collection of the Royal Academy of Music, London.
