Synopsis

This new edition brings us a surprise: the Violoncelos ⅛ will be joined in concert by the children’s choir (aged 10 to 18) of the Coro Lira project, directed by conductor Raquel Couto.

The Violoncelos 1/8, a cello orchestra of young cellists aged 5 to 18, is an activity of cultural and educational interest that forms part of the Porto Cello Festival’s educational programme. This activity brings together cello students from academies, music schools and conservatoires from all over the country to create this cello orchestra.

Throughout the days of the festival, the ensemble is guided by a team of teachers who coordinate and accompany the students, so that they have access to a complete and enriching experience. Allied to these moments of ensemble practice, of interaction between children, young people, teachers and other professional cellists, there will be this link to the festival dedicated to their instrument and a final presentation of the work developed over these days.
