Diogo Filipe Quintino Alexandre is a drummer, composer, Portuguese born in 1998 in Leiria. He is characterized by his daring way of playing the instrument, whose voice rarely goes unnoticed regardless of the musical context in which it is inserted, perhaps a reflection of his desire to extrapolate himself and raise the parameters of music and improvisation.
Recently released his debut album, “Pipe Tree” distinguished by jazz.pt as one of the best albums of the year. Throughout his career he has collaborated with some of the most sounding names in the jazz and improvised music scene, such as André Fernandes, Pedro Melo Alves, Bram de Looze, Ben Van Gelder, Fabrizio Cassol, João Mortágua, João Barradas, among others.
Awarded very early with the prizes: “Musician revelation 2020” – RTP/FJ; “Revelation of the year” (2021) – JazzLogical; “1st Place – Young Musicians Prize 2019” – RTP/Antena 2; Diogo Alexandre is affirming a solid career with a promising future.
